What Is Lip Blushing?

Lip Blushing or Lip Neutralization is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that deposits pigment into the upper dermis of the lips to add colour, correct asymmetry and/or correct hyper or hypo pigmentations (lightening the natural colour of your lips) This semi-permanent makeup tattoo will provide a finished lip tint look. This procedure can neutralize the colour of darker natural lips, brighten and add warmth. It will also allow you to darken the lips and/or achieve desired symmetry.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following factors would make someone NOT a candidate for lip blushing: you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of keloid scarring, current cancer, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, circulatory disorder, currently taking antibiotics, blood thinners, currently on Accutane, have received a chemical peel or Botox/fillers in the past 2 weeks.

Are Cosmetic Tattoos Safe?

Cosmetic tattoos are safe when performed by a qualified healthcare professional with qualified certifications.

How Long Will The Appointment Be?

The appointment will be on average, 2-3hrs long, depending on a number of factors such as shape of the lips, numbing time, break time and client comfort.

What Are Possible Side Effects?

In rare cases, hyperpigmentation can develop.

How Long Does It Last?

This is a semi-permanent procedure, as the needles do not permeate as deeply as a regular tattoo would due to the skin on our lips being extremely delicate. Lip Blushing can last 1-3 years, depending on how the individuals lips heal during the healing process. Often 1-2 touch ups are needed to achieve desired results. Sometimes, during the healing process, some areas may scab which may then create a small gap in colour. Therefore, a minor touch up will be needed to correct the remaining pigment.
